Technology - Semi Custom

A semi-custom boot starts with a standard Bont boot, then we make small adjustments so it fits your foot shape better. It’s a great option if stock sizes don’t work for you, but full custom is outside your budget.

Common fit issues semi-custom can fix

• One foot longer or wider than the other
• Wide feet or skinny feet
• Skinny ankles
• Slightly unusual foot shapes
• Boot height adjustments
• Special frame-mounting hole placement
• Half sizes

How we do it

We adjust the boot by modifying the last (the foot-shaped mold used to make the boot).
Examples include:
• Widening the last for wide feet
• Using a narrower last and lengthening it for skinny feet
• Adjusting the ankle area so the boot can tighten properly
• Making small shape changes for mild irregularities
• Offering half sizes when you fall between sizes

Timing

Semi-custom boots take about 8 to 10 weeks to make, plus extra time if our factory is on holiday.

Important to know

Semi-custom boots provide a closer, more comfortable fit and better responsiveness, but they are not returnable, as they are made specifically for your feet.
