Technology - Blade Consistency
Consistency is the core focus behind the design of our ice speed skating blades. Most manufacturers grind steel in large batches at high speed to save machining time. This creates heat, which can warp the steel during grinding.
For the GT3 and Platinum blades, our goal was simple: every blade should be perfectly straight. To achieve this, we invested in high-grade German grinding stones and grind each set of steel blades slowly, one at a time. This process is far more time-consuming and expensive, but it prevents heat-induced warping and ensures every skater receives blades of the same quality.
We also refined the gluing process. By developing a stronger adhesive, we were able to reduce the tube slot width by 0.1 mm. A smaller gap leaves less room for the steel to shift while the glue cures, increasing the consistency of each finished blade.
Finally, each blade is clamped in nine locations and left to cure for 14 hours. This limits movement during the setting process and ensures the final product is perfectly straight.
Although this method means we can only produce a few sets per day, the result is unmatched quality and consistency for skaters at every level.
