Technology - Precision Manufacturing
Most short track blades are batch ground quickly to reduce costs. This fast grinding creates heat that can warp the steel, making accurate bending more difficult. The Ultrasprint is different. Each blade is ground slowly using specialized grinding wheels to prevent excess heat, producing perfectly straight steel without warping.
Before the steel is glued into the tube, the Ultrasprint receives a specialized brilliance polish. This polishing process creates a highly reflective finish that improves glide and reduces friction on the ice.
When a standard blade is glued into a tube, a gap is left to allow room for the adhesive. This gap can cause the steel to shift or warp as the glue sets. Ultrasprint blades are glued inside a precision jig that holds everything perfectly in place. Each blade is left in the jig for eight hours, ensuring a straight, stable and consistent finish.
